Fire history shows that the vast majority of landscape had never had a recorded fire in over a century. Heavy fuel loads were likely a major factor in the ultimate size; however, recognition of this fire history, coupled with its remote location, could have influenced fire management decisions as to how aggressively to control the ultimate size of this fire.
