Boxplots and stripchart of duff depth (cm) differences with time since burn (yr) for six sample sites in Big Basin Redwoods State Park, Boulder Creek, California, USA. Data were collected in 2019 to determine the influence of burns conducted between 1999 and 2011 on vegetation, forest structure, and fuel load. Times since burn 7 yr, 12 yr, and 20 yr represent sites that were burned in 1999, 2007, and 2011–2012, respectively. Time since burn 83 yr represents three reference sample sites that were most recently burned in a wildfire in 1936. Boxes represent the upper and lower quartiles, whiskers represent full range of data excluding outliers, circles represent outliers
