Fuel load in three different ponderosa pine forest sub-types 31 years after burning in Yosemite National Park research plots. Fine fuels include litter, duff, and woody fuels less than 2.54 cm in diameter. Note that large rotten logs were not measured prior to burning in 1971 but are included as an error bar in the 31-year post-fire data (total with rotten logs included in parentheses).
