Treatment type, season, and year were distributed across both northern and southern study regions in California, USA. The southern units were located at the University of California Hopland Research and Extension Center, and the northern units were mostly located at US Bureau of Land Management’s South Cow Mountain OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle) Recreation Area. Two other northernmost units were located on adjacent private lands.
