From: Cryptogam Recolonization after Wildfire: Leaders and Laggards in Assemblages?
Arrangement of plots within central 1 ha of sample grids. Cryptogams were sampled for presence-absence in the combined area of four 2 m × 50 m plots on each grid. Substrates were sampled for frequency of 1 m × 1 m plots on which they occurred out of 20 plots on each grid. Plots were so dispersed to minimize disturbance from concurrent sampling on the grids for other biota.
