Table 3 Model selection among the null model (1), the environmental null model (2), the burned/unburned model (3), and the burn severity model (4). All models were binomial mixed effects models with tree ID as a random intercept. Variables included DBH (diameter at breast height, cm), Exfol (exfoliating bark, %), Burned/Unburned (categorical variable with two levels), and Burn Severity (categorical variable with four levels).
