Measurement of FRP and calculation of FRE from a small plot experiment using the overhead sensor system shown in Figure 2. The sampling interval was 10 seconds. Infrared radiation data were collected over a ∼20 m2 area within a 64 m2 plot in which eastern US hardwood fuels were burned. The fuel loading for this experiment was 3.36 kg m−2. In this experiment, fuel consumption was nearly complete.
