Table 3 Fire effects on shrub patches within the Yosemite Forest Dynamics Plot (25.6 ha). Pre-fire aboveground live biomass (AGLB) for each species was higher than standing dead biomass except for A. patula and C. integerrimus. Totals reflect live and dead stems that were burned across all habitat types. Total prefire fuel loading of the shrub strata (live and dead) was 6447 kg ha−1. All shrub stems that were dead pre fire were consumed. t = trace (<1 kg ha−1).
